new cpu upgrade worth it?

Go to solution Solved by zzenigmaxzz,

you wouldnt get much of a fps increase since the 960 isnt gonna cause your cpu to bottleneck. i would hold off on an upgrade

I've had the machine listed in my sig for years now...It wasnt until this year I picked up gtx 960...would it be worth it to pick up a new mobo+cpu? the only thing this rig does it game.

is it simply worth it for a haswell setup? or shell a tiny bit more for a skylake setup?

Meh.

The Phenom doesn't bottleneck the 960 really, maybe a bit. So Upgrading would only grant you a few fps more.
