Actionscript 3 Visual Novel Project

Hello!
 
I've been learning Actionscript 3 for about 2 weeks now and decided to create a visual novel.
So far I have only been working on the start menu.
 
The picture and music in the game are not done by me.
I took them from google to have something to work with until I create them myself.
 
I'll be happy if I could get some ideás, critics, feedback or answer some questions.

Had to put it in "code" because it embedded the swf file.

I don't have a good upload speed so it will take some time to load
 
I can also send the source code if someone wants to have a look at it.

 

Progress:

20/08/2013:

-Added Main Menu.

-Added menu buttons continue, start, settings, quit.

-Added button mouse over sound

-Added background image.

-Added background music (Does not play on IE 10 for me).

-Added function to quit button (Does not work in Chrome and Firefox).

 

21/08/2013:

-Added function to settings button.

-Added settings menu.

-Added fullscreen setting (Does not work in browser).

-Added back button in settings menu.

-Added function to start button.

-Changed default background color to black.

 

22/08/2013:

-Added sound channels.

-Added game scene.

-Added textbox to game scene.

-Added textfields to game scene.

-Added script.

-Added script functions (Click on the textbox for next line).

-Added back button when script ends.

-Fixed background music to start/stop correctly.

-Recorded new background music for main/settings menu.

I haven't come so far yet, I just started the project today efter work.

I'll keep updating my original post when I make some progress.

Should i link to the installer too because some of the functions does not work in the browser?

I was thinking about the story and decided to make the plot about Linus and Slick trying to get the stream to work.

Writing stories/scripts is NOT one of my good points so it will most likely not be good.

But I'll do it anyway

 

If anyone finds a good background image for the main menu please send it to me  ;)
