controller support

Iron couch

Controller support wise would it be smarter to get a 360 or a xbone controller? obviosly games still support 360 controllers but future wise would it be smarter to get a xbone controller? I dont want to spend 100€ to buy 2 xbone controllers so id preferably buy some cheap third party 360 controllers but i dont know if they will be properly supported in the future.

Simple, if you want the controller to be "properly supported in the future" as you say, buy original products. Then buy whatever controller you think feels best, the 360, one, ps3, and ps4 controllers all work perfect on pc. I personally got my ps4 controller used from amazon in perfect condition for $35.

Don't get a knock-off controller.  You run the risk of deadzones and shoddy button-press recognition.

360 controllers are cheap and I'm still using a wired one with no issues.

I am pretty sure that the xbone controllers just emulate the 360 software so in theory both should get support. Though the Xbox Elite looks awesome... :D

I would stick with the Xbox 360 controllers. As of now. Xbox one controllers will need to be connected via cable whereas the Xbox 360 controllers are wireless.

AFAIK both X360 and XBone use XInput in windows. Also any other controller that has support for XInput will work as well as they do. Ofc known brands rule with here too.
