Fixing unstable memory

So i recently just built my new computer and when playing games the game will freeze, audio will stop and when pressing power reset switch nothing will happen. so i have to hold my power button down for a bout 5-10 seconds before my pc does anything i believe this is because of some unstable memory, has any one had this before and is there a way to fix it?

 

SPECS:

  • i5 6500
  • 16GB Corsair vengeance lpx ddr4 2400mhz (XMP profiles on)
  • Asus z170M-PLUS mobo
  • gigabyte gtx 970 windforce
