A few days ago Battlefield 4 started freezing up and crashing. I've never had those issues in about a year that I own the game. When it crashes I don't get any client error message except for the Battlelog message that says:
Game disconnected: Client closed down connection. Check your network connection and make sure that port 3659 (UDP) is open.

That was kinda weird because it never before asked me to open that port and the game still worked flawlessly. So I opened the port, but it didn't resolve the issue, and it's really frustrating.

Here are my PC specs btw:
AMD FX-6300 (not OC'd)
Sapphire R9 270x w/t 4GB VRAM
8GB RAM
Win 10 Pro 64-bit

Also I don't think that CPU is thermal throttling 'cause I have an after market cooler and ambient temps are normal.

Thanks in advance to whoever responds.

It actually sounds more like a server side issue.

Depending on where you live and who is hosting the server.

Well I live in europe, Croatia to be specific. But I have the same issue on other servers, and by the error message I get on the battlelog I reckon the problem is on the client's side

I didn't do any overclocking, it's all stock. I'll try with Firefox in the morning and post the results. Thanks

Welp. I tried with Firefox, but that did not fix the problem, I also tried to reinstall Punkbuster as someone on the other forum suggested but that didn't help either. I guess I'll have to reinstall the whole game. Or maybe try calling those monkeys at EA and see if they'll be of any use. Thanks though.

Have you tried turning your modem/router off and on again?

Have you tried turning your firewall off temporarily?

I tried rebooting my router, and even went so far as to restoring it back to factory defaults.

Turning firewall off didn't help either.
