So i have an iphone and im loving it. Android simply wasn't for me. But i am starting to miss a couple of features that i used to do on my old lg g2. The biggest one is the ability to view WEBmd's. so im thinking about jail breaking it. I have a couple questions though.

1. will jailbreaking void my warenty with verizon?

2. will i be able to reset it back to IOS whenever i want?

3. Does it drain battery faster?

4. is it safe to do?

5. do i really have to downgrade my iphone down to 9.02

6. Do i have to factory reset my phone

7. will i lose my contacts?

i know this is a lot of questions but any help will be appreciated.

i have an iphone 6 16gb running ios 9.1

To answer question 4... my friend was jailbreaking his ipad during a lesson and the teacher noticed and took his ipad away, locking it without realising what he was doing. That ended up bricking it and he had to factory reset or something along those lines to make it work again. So basically follow the instruction very carefully.

jailbreaking technically dosen't void warranty as long as you factory reset when you bring it back to verizon. jailbreaking leaves no trace on your phone after a reset.

Void warranty? Yes, but you can reset and you'll get it back since no one will know.

You'll need iOS 9.0.2.

Back up, reset your phone, jailbreak then restore backup, you will lose nothing at all.

The real question here is, is it worth it to jailbreak? Absolutely. You get to do so many things that Apple doesn't let you do.

Also, what website should i use to jailbreak when they find an exploit for ios 9.1?

depends on who releases one first. most likely it will be pangu or taig. anything else is a scam, unless a new player comes on the scene.

if you reddit, keep an eye on /r/jailbreak  they will have a post up when 9.1 jailbreak is available.

It being safe is arguable, and I would argue that it isn't. (safe to do? in a sense, secure? absolutely not)

I would do it, have had my iPad 3 Jailbroken for years now, I love it. I get a bunch of free in-app purchases too ;)

Makes the device a lot more fun to use, Idk about phones tho. The last time I didnt anything out of the ordinary with my iPhone was when I Jailbroke it to get iOS 7 early, which was super cool because I was the cool kid on the block (or the school hallways) for having it when no one else did xD

its safe if your not a complete idiot, like only download tweaks from legit sources. There are also tweaks to improve the security.

Overall its similar to security on a computer. as long as your not an idiot, you'll be fine

I mean, I can see what you mean, but I'd still argue that it's not secure regardless of what tweaks you download, seeing as though it gives it root-level access (I know you can change the root password and so on) and other possible threats

But yeah I guess if you change the root password, be careful of what you're installing/modifying etc. you should be okay (by knowing what you're installing I mean actually know, not just installing it because you seen it recommended somewhere)
