Sorry if this is the wrong place to start this discussion but I was looking at the Steelseries Rival and it looks like a good gaming mouse, tell me every issue you've had with this mouse, recommend any other mouse about the same price, I am looking for good build quality and a mouse which will last a long time and will be good for precise gaming because I take my games seriously.

Sensor is mediocre, spazzes out sometimes, also the rubber wears pretty fast.

It's still a good mouse for the price.

If you want something that will last just buy like Zowie ZA11 or Logitech something.

I really love it :)

the only issue I have is that when you are moving the mouse around and you use the DPI switch the cursor will jerk around but if you don't change DPI during in-game and heavy mouse movement its really good :)

I find the mouse really Rigid and large but Light :D

I've just got my Rival. Some Bad pictures.

The side grips are improved from the first revisions and they don't wear out as fast according to Steelseries. Sensor's performance is pretty good imo (firmware 1.8.0.0).

Zowie ZA uses the same sensor, but it has huano switches which are stiffer compared to the ones in the Rival.

I'd suggest trying different mice if you can, because it's really subjective. If anyone gives you a straight answer, they are just saying their preference.

My rival works fine, and has never spazzed out

Although some of the design is pretty bad, like i cant scroll down while holding rightclick i think, and also the scroll button is getting kind of wierd after about 1,5 years of use

But these are just minor problems

Oh, and also the grip worn out long ago, but i dont really care about the grip material

Its ultra customizable, and you can actually disable the DPI switch, and replace it with something like autoclick, which is really useful in some games and applications

I know I have one :)

I'm just saying the DPI Switch (by Default) causes the mouse to spazz.

Decent Mouse. The best ive ever owned was the Logitech MX518. Followed by the Steelseries Xai. Since both of them dont get sold anymore i´d rather buy an Zowie FK1 or an Steelseries Sensei Raw.

I own a Rival but its realy not what i expected it to be. I had a hard time getting used to it since the form was kinda difficult to get used to. Other then that the Rival is okay. But like i said: If i would´ve the chance again to switch i´d buy Zowie FK1 or Steelseries Sensei Raw.

What Games are you playing btw ?
