Ram Compatibility

My friend ask me this, his motherboard is a Gigabyte G41M-combo supporting DDR3 1333(O.C.)/1066/800 MHz memory modules.

Then he also have a G.Skill Ares 4gb, 1600 MHz DDR3, He ask me if his ram will work to his mobo, he tried it but it wont boot up.

I also search this and some said it will work but will run in 1066MHz (no evidence), but mostly of the answers I saw, said it will not work.

 

 

 

 

 

*Ram is working (we tried it with a mobo that supports ddr3 1600mhz).

*Mobo is also working (since he is using it).

*Ram slots also working.

Should work just fine.  The speeds on the RAM itself are just speeds that it has been tested to be stable at.  If the board only supports up to 1333MHz, it will only run at 1333MHz.
