Explorer.exe is using 30%+ CPU

Snickerzz
Go to solution Solved by Snickerzz,

Did a system restore to 10/31/15, seemed to have worked. Thanks for those who helped :)

Just noticed this an hour ago. Explorer.exe seems to be using 30 to 40% CPU usage. I've restarted multiple times, restarted explorer.exe, ran sfc /scannow without errors, and updated windows, nothing helped :(

Specs below, I'm running Win10 Pro on the normal update schedule, not Insider.

Case: NZXT Phantom PSU: EVGA G2 650w Motherboard: Asus Z97-Pro (Wifi-AC) CPU: 4690K @4.2ghz/1.2V Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 Ram: Kingston HyperX FURY 16GB 1866mhz GPU: Gigabyte G1 GTX970 Storage: (2x) WD Caviar Blue 1TB, Crucial MX100 256GB SSD, Samsung 840 SSD Wifi: TP Link WDN4800

Have you just used task manager to end the explorer.exe task?

Pro Tip: don't use flash when taking pictures of your build; use a longer exposure instead. Prop up your camera with something (preferably a tripod) if necessary.

if you use retarded/autistic/etc to mean stupid please gtfo

terminating it will shutdown the taskbar and all icons.

To restart you need to terminate something to open it again though :P
