Problem finding right PSU

Go to solution Solved by Wats,

First off, welcome

Now..

A quality 500W is more than enough. If you're looking to SLI one day (with 660s, ehhh. prolly shouldn't unless you know your games were written with SLI in mind), a quality 650W is enough.

If you'd like suggestions... The XFX Pro650 is excellent. Is perfect for two-way, midrange GPUs.

I'm building new computer and i'm having trouble picking the right power supply. The specs are:
CPU: 4670K

MOBO: MSI Z87-G43

Graphics: Gigabyte GTX660 OC
RAM: Kingston HyperX 2x4GB 1600MHz Blu

SSD: Plextor 128GB M5S

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB
CPU Cooler:
NH-D14

For PSU i wanted to go with OCZ ZT 650W but I'm not 100% sure that's gonna be enough (especially if I OC the CPU a bit). I would go with 750W ZT but I heard they get loud over time and i want it to be more of a quiet machine.

EDIT: Also, will that Noctua fit in Antec 302 case(on paper it should but will it)?

650 watts will be plenty. Good  luck on the build! Love to see pics when you are done.

I've got the 750 watt ZT... I don't find it that loud...

But 650 watt should be fine!

I got the 750 watt because I will be upgrading my build overtime with more STUFF ;)

Just to back up my claim http://support.asus.com/powersupply.aspx  says that 450 watt is enough... so yeah :D Show us your build when it's done btw :D

Just thought I'd say that there are a lot of options at the same price point of the 660 that out perform it and tbh I'd never really recommend getting one.

Console optimisations and how they will effect you | The difference between AMD cores and Intel cores | Memory Bus size and how it effects your VRAM usage |
How much vram do you actually need? | APUs and the future of processing | Projects: SO - here

Intel i7 5820l @ with Corsair H110 | 32GB DDR4 RAM @ 1600Mhz | XFX Radeon R9 290 @ 1.2Ghz | Corsair 600Q | Corsair TX650 | Probably too much corsair but meh should have had a Corsair SSD and RAM | 1.3TB HDD Space | Sennheiser HD598 | Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro | Blue Snowball

@SirReallySam I never got a chance to try it out, it's just what I google'd going through forums and reviews.

@Kuzma in here at 170 euro price point there is only either 660 or 7850

I'd HIGHLY recommend the 7850, friend of mine has a 7850 o.o cause a NICE oveclock on it and his card performs slightly better than a 660 TI which for it's price point is quite frankly amazing o.o

Your build could be better. Where are you shopping? Budget? Intended system usage?

Imma get parts from 2 online shops around.

Budget? Yes and I already overstepped it a bit(right now the build is looking at 950euro), but I'm open for suggestions ;)

Intended system usage: Average gaming(not many latest titles) and work(including compiling code so I also need some computing power)

Edit: Added estimated buid cost

Which sites? Link please? --something like a numerical budget would be better than 'Yes I have one'.

I updated my previous post.

Not sure it's gonna be any good to you since the sites are in polish but here you go:

http://www.morele.net/

http://proline.pl/

The currency on the sites isn't euros.

What's your actual budget?

Right now it's sitting at 3900PLN and i wouldn't want to go much over that.

Is ProLine or Morele better for prices?

Usually  Morele but I'm using combination of both since I have Proline near by and i can just drive and pick it up myself. Imma PM you a link to the build with prices and which comes from which store.

Edit: and by the way thank you for trying to help out :)

A 8350 would be better suited for compiling code than a 4670k.

Here's what I came up with: http://gyazo.com/25628b8325db0a6fc2b7ee7ebebdee03.png

Crossfire ready.

I'm not sure where you found a NH-D14 for 250 since I couldn't find it but go with that instead if you can.
