Hey guys

So i'm thinking of starting a build and it is my first shot at it and i was just wondering how reliable Pc Part Picker is in relation to the pricing and availability? also i'm Australian would that have any effect as long as i select the correct region?

if it actually sucks and i just don't know is there anything you would recommend?

thanks

see you, space cowboy

it always picks the lowest price and applies all sorts of discounts. there is an actual price before shipping and discounts are included.

It will give you a good general idea and help with the compatibility. I recommend buying all of the parts locally though, because shipping to/from australia is more expensive than flying there lol.
But more seriously it will give you an idea of what the price of your PC will be (within 20% high or low)

I usually just use PC Case Gear to "make" a build in my cart. Sometimes I use Staticice to see if there's lower prices of any components that I can pick-up instead of getting it shipped.

Everybody has their preferred retailer although the majority of them price pretty much the same anyway and then they just do coupons and free shipping on large orders. Well at least the retailer I recommend in the UK does.

Nope, we don't get any discounts in Australia if you shop online (that I know of). Maybe it's different if you go in-store and negotiate.

To OP: If you're just restricted to buying online, then definitely buy from one retailer to save on shipping and what not. If you're able to pick-up, look around for some savings if you have any stores (provided by Staticice) near by.

I use pcpartpicker to plan my build and see compatibility with parts and their ratings. But i order all the parts from a local online retailer e.g. Webhallen (i lovree in sweden btw)

I use PCPartPicker to plan out my build also but the prices are sometimes not accurate so you would have to click on the links in order to see the real price. This is a useful website to show your build that you are going to build and to ask for suggestions in improving it.
