A friend told me about the free Windows 10 upgrade (straight from Microsoft site), so I went through and did everything. Didn't mess with the system at all while it did its thing. It booted up just fine, and I was able to look around a little. I started up a game (Star Wars: TOR) and it said there was an error and the game shut off... So I thought that was odd and if it happens again, I will look for a solution. Once the game booted, the entire system froze (cntrl/alt/dlt, alt/f4, nothing worked). So I had to do a hard reset. Once I powered the system back on, it had the Windows logo, computer fans and everything was starting, but then the screen goes blank and never changes. Computer is still on, fans on, KB/Mouse on, but blank screen. This happens every time I boot the system up. I ran some diagnostics from the boot menu and it can't find any problems...

I have run out of ideas for trying to mend this, and I really don't want to lose my data... Plz tell me there's either a way to repair, or a way to return to my previous version... If there is a restore option, I can't find it..

First try this link: http://www.tenforums.com/general-discussion/10457-fix-windows-10-booting-black-screen.html

If that didn't help try to go into save mode and update your drivers. If that didn't help try to take out your graphics card (if you have one) and plug your display adapter (VGA, DVI, HDMI etc.) into your onboard connection. If the screen is still black try another graphics card. If it still doesn't work? Try to do a fresh install of the same Windows version or an older one. I had the same problem with my sisters computer the problem there was even when you turned on the computer the screen stays black, you don't even see the boot-up logo or anything else. The problem there was that the motherboard was defect even tough everything was spinning and working. some weird shit lol.

This is because you didn't install drivers and the game probably had several libraries that weren't installed in the new install of Windows.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!
