So I wanted an ML08, I'm pretty sure that's not going to happen. I was going to sell/trade my liquid cooled 290 (that now takes up 3-4 slots with the tubing sticking out) so it could fit but I really want to keep my cool (no pun intended) little card. The reason I want to change is because, although I like my SG05, the tubing sticks out of the case, and it really worried me when I carry it around, as I'm afraid it will catch onto something or hit something and break the tubing or block. I modified the case to make it fit, and it looks okay, but I want something a little more suited for it. So I need a case that will hold my 290 (which again, takes up 3-4 slots on it's own) and a mITX mobo. Something compact, probably an mATX case, or a 3 slot mITX case. I'd like to keep costs down as well. Suggestions?

Oh, and here is what I'm talking about:

post-2597-0-00800300-1446607788_thumb.jp

Takes up quite bit of room with the tubing. Thanks!

Keywords:

COMPACT

NOT SO EXPENSIVE (like less than $100 maybe?)

HOUSES MY COMPONENTS NICELY AND LOOKS GOOD

So far I have the Air 240 on my mind, it seems a lot of people put mITX boards in there.

Why not just shorted the tubes and route them through top of the gpu?

well you're going to need an M-ATX case to take the tubing (probably), so maybe the Node 804?

The barbs where the tubing attaches come straight out of the block, so I can't bend them or shorten anything. If I had a Seidon 120M I could, as it has rotating fittings, but mine doesn't it's just an OEM AIO. Kind of hard to explain, but I can only bend the tubing around the card a bit tighter than what you see in the picture.

Looks like a big box with vents on the bottom to me

same can be said for the SG05.

maybe the one of the Bitfenix "M" cases? (Prodigy, Phenom, etc.)

Yeah it's true. I think the thing I don't like about the Node 804 though is how much wasted space there is. Like it's way too wide, not GPU is that tall and you rarely need a 5th expansion slot. I like the Air 240, what do you think about that? Prodigy M is pretty cool too, I like the Phenom M, kind of hard to find though (at least a cheap one).

Again, the tubing coming out of my 290 would hit the side panel and kink and/or break. I need an mATX case so I can use the spare 3 and 4th slot for clearance for my tubing.

I'd still try to mod it as it will cost almost nothing and you already have a case you like(probably). The only problem I see is refilling the loop, but if that not the problem just get new tubing and fittings. Probably the easiest way to shorten it is to add two fitting in the middle of the tube to interconnect and fasten with zip ties

I already cut the shroud and stuff. I'd rather sell/trade the card for another 290 that is stock or just get a new case. It would be intersesting, but I don't have the proper tools or time to do a mod like that. What would be cool though is a custom copper heatpipe route like in the Fury X, That way I could cool the VRMs and stuff too and not even need the rest of the cooler.

well the air 240, is only slimmer, it's larger in both other dimensions

there's also this funky line of cases I've never heard of:https://pcpartpicker.com/parts/case/overall-list/#t=6&p=0&s=1&u=1&f=7,8&X=0,10069&m=54

oh and some more from the SG line, the SG11 and 12 are both M-ATX

Hmm... I still like the Air 240. But the Prodigy M like you said is coming up high on my list, the case is very cool looking. Definitely not that Apevia one though, it looks like an H440 that was cut into thirds.

Thermalfake?!

they actually make great cases, especially for water-cooling. though the V1 simply won't fit it, and the V2 is probably too big for your liking.

Still the V21 would be the only one that would be okay, but that's kind of big as well. I think I'll go for either the Air 240 or the Prodigy M. Which one?

Hold on, I'll add a poll...

I have experience building with the core v21 and I must say that I enjoyed it but I will agree the its a bit large for a matx. As for a case suggestion, take a look at the CM Silencio 352. I am currently building in it and it's quite nice.

I used to have a N200, is it similar to that, just sound dampened? I liked the N200, it was pretty nice case although it still is a bit big and the Prodigy M looks nicer.
