Hi there . Current Build:

Prebuild :

Asus G10AC

-Windows 8.1

-i7 4770

-Intel H87 motherboard

-NVIDIA® GeForce GT640

-16GB DDR3

-350W PSU

So the thing is I want to upgrade my current GPU to a GTX 960.And having no experience in building PCs, I have a couple of questions to ask.

-Will my card fit ? ( I'm afraid the type of slots are different)

-I know I need to upgrade my PSU but to how much ?

-Will I be even able to change my graphics card ? (Asus might have fitted some anti-modding stuff)

-Would it be wiser to buy a more expensive psu or a less expensive psu but with more power ?

(please don't judge me , I'm a pc noob)

"ASUS G10 Desktop PC equipped with the latest 4th generation Intel® Core™ processors and NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX graphics for smooth multitasking and high-performance gaming." from their site. how much did you pay for that? xD

Get a minimum 500w psu, and try getting the R9 380 4GB. It's better than the 960 and cheaper ^^ Slot types should all be the same; and I'd recommend getting a good quality PSU from seasonic/evga.

Hi!

Can't really be sure without having seen the PC in person, but based on a quick Google image search, it looks fully upgradeable. A GTX 960 should fit without any issues. All you need to do is to unscrew and remove the existing card from the PCIe x16 slot, and pop in the new one, and screw it into place.

When it comes to the PSU, around 500w should be plenty for the 960. I would also recommend looking into the R9 380, as it should perform the same or better than the 960 in most games.

Best of luck to you!

XFX 550w for a psu, and as long as you have an x8-x16 pcie lane available you will be fine.  If you only have x1s then you need a riser that is x1 to x16.  However, the card will be slowed down due to x1 performance.

it most likely will have an x16. almost all modern day MOBOS do aside from a couple of mini itx boards
