When you see a game is 2D or 3D, is it an instant negative, a neutral, a positive?

For example, is a game with 2D mechanics, always better in 3D graphics?

For example, if 2D games are statisticly less likely to be liked by you, you may have an initial negative estime.

I usually love 2D games because usually the focus is on the gameplay and not eyecandy, although I do love and deeply appreciate the artwork in most 2D games out there (take DISTRAINT for example). I can't really vote on the poll because I don't judge a game based on it graphics.

I clarified the poll, it didn't even say what was compared against (2D)

I added an exemple to the post.

Some guy told me 2D games was a negative put off and expressed doubt about the 2D game market. I guess I could go check some numbers for that.

It's really an attempt to get feedback on a game concept. But it is true that I like to newb with newbs too, jus tnot the primary purpose.
