Hi guys, I've just upgraded my CPU cooler from a Zalman CNPS 8900 to a Corsair H100. I've got an i53570k that's been overclocked to 4.2GHz, I was wondering if with this new cooler how much further I can overclock, I've heard that I can go as high as 4.5GHz.

Currently I'm running the cooler on the lowest setting, and under load getting up to 63 degrees, if I put it up to the second cooling setting where it's louder it stays below 60 the entire time.

Thanks for any advice/input in advance!

well it can go to 4.5 if its a good chip or it might max out at 4.3

also run a stress test for about 8hrs i recommend (then u can post results on the ltt oc database what ever its called)

those temps to me seem fine if its a stress tester or gaming

so maybe u can try and experiment with voltage too (be extremity cautious)

but do what u want with it have fun and yeah be safe =D

It's during Prime 95

There's too many guides out there.

Here's a tip. When stress testing. Set the H100 on high. That could be the difference between 4.4 and 4.5. Put er back on silent for daily activities. For folding, it better be on high.

Thanks for the advice, I know there are loads of guides but I figured I might find someone who's using this particular cooler here :)

I've used a 3570k and an H100 at the same time before. Got to 5.1GHz with about 1.5Vcore. I don't suggest running that everyday. Was reaching 90C in benchies...

Yes, the fans were on 12v and it was snowing...

Keep er about 65C or less for everyday folding.

Wow I was aiming more for 4.5! Thanks for the info though, it's helpful. I've just put it up to 4.5 and am about to do some testing

Nice. Be sure you're not using auto voltage and to play around with load line calibration.

Vdroop is in the Intel spec. But if you're running full whack everyday, it doesn't hurt to have the voltage steady.
