depends entirely on personal preference, 1 is transparent the other isn't I'd personally go with the pastel because it has a more vivid effect.

I think i would go with pastel then because i'm doing a white build with blue fluid. I think the x1 tends to go with black cases more.

Oh and one more question, would you prefer hardlines for first tries?

If you are willing to buy the extra hardware, a heat gun and maybe some bending aids. (or a tonne of fittings) the hard tubing it probably going to be worth it.

 

but soft tubing is generally much easier to use, it's simply a matter of measuring and cutting, and swapping out components is much easier.

Doesn't the UV glow under a UV cathode?

yes, that makes it look good at night, but distinctly unremarkable during the day (when you'd presmuably have it powered on), unless the UV is done to an extent where the build is more purple than blue.
