CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT BSOD and CPU = Unknown Device?

Hey guys. Lately I've been getting BSODs with the message CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT after installing a second GTX 780 Ti in my rig. Check specs in my signature.

I had to reset my BIOS after my installation, because something apparently went wrong. The BSOD only happens rarely in some games, but has never happened outside of a game.

 

When I open my Device Manager, I see one device that is unknown. This has not appeared before, so I assume it is pretty new. This is how it looks:

It looks like my CPU isn't registered as a device? I know that isn't the case, but why would it show my CPU threads? Here are the hardware IDs:

 

ACPI\VEN_INT&DEV_33A0

ACPI\INT33A0

*INT33A0

 

What could be the cause of my BSODs?

 

EDIT: Oh I forgot to say... I ran sfc /scannow already which found "issues" as well as fixed them, but the problem still persists.

If you absolutely need the overclock try increasing the voltage some more.

I can tell you that its due to overclocking. I've seen this error so many times.

Forgot to mention; the CPU is back to about 4 GHz because of the BIOS reset.

Change the CPU's clock settings back to stock, 4GHz isn't the 2600K's stock clock

Mind telling me how installing a new GPU could affect my CPU overclock? I've had it at 5.2 GHz at one point without issues.. other than heat.

It's Windows being really finicky with the motherboard. Once you undo the overclock, you could probably reoverclock it after.

I will give it a try at some point, but I honestly doubt that would be it. How does reverting your settings, then doing them again, have anything to say? I just don't get it

It's really complicated, but to put it simply, Windows doesn't like hardware changes that much.

especially windows 10 with the new "Oh you wanna change your motherboard? You're going to need a new product key" Nonsense 

which, yes you can get from microsoft but its just a pain
