Strix 970 Performance

Go to solution Solved by manikyath,

so... use that power supply as a coaster, and that APU may be a performance neck as well.

I ran Cinebench R15's  OpenGL test on my ASUS Strix GTX 970 today and I got a score of 43.81 fps, LOWER than my earlier score of 48.16 with a PNY GTX 650! I suspect the reason for this is that either my (cringe warning) 300 watt oem power supply is causing performance issues or my A8-5500 CPU is bottlencking (pretty sure it's the PSU). I just wanted to know if that's it, and that I will see a performance jump when i get a new PSU.

Also, when monitoring the card's GPU usage percentage, it goes as high as 94% on my crappy PSU which is why this is confusing to me.

Thx
