Graphics Card won't be default?

My rig:

Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor ASRock H97M PRO4 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory A-Data Premier Pro SP600 128GB 2.5" Solid State Drive EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB Superclocked ACX 2.0 Video Card ****USED**** ( brought it used on Amazon ) NZXT H230 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case Corsair Builder 600W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply

 

Hello LTT community! I am a new pc gamer and I'm having a lot of trouble making my GTX 970 work. 

Everything in this build works well except for my graphics card. The graphics card is used but I believe it works fine because when i turn on my pc, the fans on the graphics card work but then slowly turn off. My PC recognizes the graphics card when i go to device manager. I just don't know how to make the graphics card the primary source. I have installed the latest drivers on my pc and have uninstalled them varies times. I have placed the hdmi cable to the graphics card, but when i do i get no display. So I always end up placing the hdmi cable to the motherboard. Can anyone help me or advise me on what to do? I have also played around with the motherboard options on the primary graphics card but i still can't make the gtx 970 the main graphics. Amazon is offering me a full refund on the card and i have 30 days to return it. should i return it and get a new card or try to make it work. Thank you so much of reading this wall of txt and trying to help me out!

Hello, welcome to LTT!

 

You are going to need to check your BIOS settings for Integrated Graphics. You should disable it there. Let me know if you need more help that that but that should be the ticket!

Have you tried using a different port on the graphics card, such as DVI? Perhaps the hdmi port is bad. It is used, after all.
