MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition help

So I bought the MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition, but I have no idea what cables to get

I was originally going to get two SATA III cables for my hard drive (WD 1TB Caviar Blue) and my SSD (Samsung 850 EVO 500GB) but now I see that this option may result in a slow SSD, I'm not bothered too much about my HDD, but I want to get the best possible speed for my SSD, as that is where I will keep my OS and games...

Can someone link me to the fastest SATA cables (I think they're called SATA Express & M.2?) for my SSD and let me know if they're even compatible?

No. M.2 is a form factor. Your SSD is SATA based on a 2.5" form factor. You will not see any performance gain form attaching it to a M.2 port (somehow).

Intel Core i7-6700K | Corsair H105 | Asus Z170I PRO GAMING | G.Skill TridentZ Series 16GB | 950 PRO 512GB M.2

Asus GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB STRIX OC | BitFenix Prodigy (Black/Red) | XFX PRO Black Edition 850W

SATA 3 wont bottleneck that SSD, and that motherboard comes with 2/3 of those i belive so you shouldnt have to buy anything.

okay, with this motherboard will I see any performance drop in using a SATA III cable for both Storages?

No. Just go with SATA III.

On a side note, welcome to the MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition owners club!  My current rig black/white build I did for Fallout 4 sports that board (pics on my profile page), and it's a great board for the money.

Hey, I'm planning on joining the club as well, but I'm reading here and there, some very negative things about the mobo, like it is terrible in games, or impossible to overclock- just generally that it is bad. Should I be conserned? Have you had any problems with your mobo? How long do you own it?

Weird, I only do modest overclocks.  I got it to 4.0 Ghz and haven't moved her.  As far as games, well, I've never had an issue.  Weird.  I'm trying to think about it...  I'm being honest here, I've never had an issue with it.  I got it because it matched a black and white build I did and is serving me fantastically.  Maybe I got lucky.
