setup LEDs

The roll of LED's you have selected are SMD3258 LED's while RGB they do not produce colored light like regular SMD5050 LED's which mix the colors since they have 3 diodes inside a single chip where those SMD3258 are three different colored chips spaced apart. I would recommend looking for an RGB SMD5050 kit.

im looking to get some RGB LED strips for my setup. i have one 64 inch desk. one 68 inch desk. a 64 inch shelf. three 12 inch shelves. a 23 inch shelf and case LEDs..
heh... any recommendations on what to get? and about how much it would cost?

For the length of lights you require a roll of LED's from Amazon are probably your best bet, you can cut them to length and wire them accordingly:

how does it make a difference?

The SMD5050 LED's has the three RGB colored lights(diodes) together in one chip where the SMD3258 has each RGB colored light individually. This causes the strip to be more of a rainbow than able to smoothly cycle through a bunch of different colors like the SMD5050 LED's:

is it save to use a PC PSU to power LEDs?

It's a bit overkill since they will only use around 25 watts for two rolls of LED strips but you can. If you have a regulated wall adapter that outputs 12V those also work, just make sure it's regulated as in if you put a multi-meter to to connections it reads very close to 12.00V, unregulated (transformers) ones will rise up to like 15-16V for a 12V adapter and tends to wear out the LED's faster.
