Very? Are they keycaps even clear? It probably uses a completely different PCB. Or it might actually have holes for the LEDS, considering that using the same PCB for two different products is quite common, and just leave out the unneeded parts...

How difficult would it be to give the non RGB k65 keyboard backlighting myself? Are there any kits to do this?

I have the same keyboard. And hey, also in Nevada. Its possible, but you'd have to get keycaps with translucent letters so the light could shine through. You'd also have to find a way to hide the wires and leds. It could be done, but it would be tedious.

That's all you need to know. It's a beast.

Not really possibly since it requires a controller for the LED lights and place to install all of them under each key which there isn't, the original RGB version used clear switch housings to let the light diffuse and shine through.

I mean, it's probably do-able. But nothing I would recommend doing. The problem with doing it is that you would have to remove all of the switches, and replace them with LED compatible ones. And add a source for power, etc.

As I said. Do not recommend doing it.

Say he just wanted a fixed color. I think the standard cherry switches have LED holes, but the PCB would have to have them too.

@Iamdarkbowser

Ah ok if it's just a single color LED's it would be easier but from the looks of things the PCB doesn't have the connections or solder points for individual LED's:

Actually, I take it back. It seems that Cherry switches already have the cut-outs to mount an LED. So I guess it's a matter of finding a way of actually mounting them, giving them power, and all that.

They do have the holes on the top of the switch, but the PCB would need to have holes as well.
