"Boost" vs Non-Boost 7950 (OCing)

Go to solution Solved by Samdb,

The Boost version is just factory overclocked, meaning you won't need to overclock it.

Im looking into getting a Sapphire 7950, there is a Boost version and a non-boost version. If I'm going to be overclocking the card does getting the boost version make a difference?

Cheers

just to add to what samdb said you won't need to overclock it but the option is still there to push it further if you still wanted to.

Its propably will be difference between 850 and 950 on the clocks. I have 7950 Vapor-X OC with Boost and main bios is running 850 and secondary is OCed to 950 which doesnt mean i cant push it further.

Just get the cheapest dual/triple fan cooler 7950 and overclock it yourself.
