[HELP] Mousepad Material?

I'm looking to make a custom sized mousepad, but I have no idea what type of fabric they're made of, or where I could find some, does anyone here know specifics of how mousepads are made, and what of? Thanks!

you can use microfiber and wrap it around a hard plastic sheet so it doesn't crumple

Would it make sense to take just the fabric from a pad I have to a fabric store and see if I can find something similar?

Sure, I don't see why not. I see mouse pads to be heavily marketed with silly "technologies" and "features" so you can probably easily make one yourself.

Approx. 3 feet by 8 feet, possibly smaller, but that would cover my desk, I LAN a lot so it would be for up to 3 people.
