Is this DDR3 Server Ram compatible?

Go to solution Solved by RyanMacRocks,

No, you need non-ECC RAM.

So, I have this cheap p67 Board "Foxconn p67 Rattler" laying around and now want to build a pc with that as i still have psu and hdds and can get cases from friends for free.
I just bought a 7850 for 50€ (germany) with shipping and found a kit of
Samsung DIMM 4GB, DDR3-1066, CL7, reg ECC (M393B5273CH0-CH9) "
and am now wondering if it is compatible, as its just 10€ :)
Does anyone know if this ecc ram will work? I will propably use an i5 2500k that i can get for around 65-70€. would I need a xeon for ecc?

It MAY work. However, http://www.foxconnchannel.com/ProductDetail.aspx?T=motherboard&U=en-us0000527

use that list to buy your memory for ultimate compatibility decisions.

Also that memory is DDR3-1067, thats on the lower end. You can find some 1333 or 1600 thats pretty cheap too.

OK thanks. I will look for standard ram :)

Get a 4gb stick of 1600 for cheap, or at least 1333.  Lower server ram isn't suited for other tasks.

yes, I will propably buy some cheap 1600 maybe used idk yet. :) thank you ecc isnt supported so wont bother buying it
