Sometime in December for existing phones and November for the new Lumias.

Really? Cos i thought it was November for everyone?

Yea December for downloads was the last I heard.

No, some of the phones will be allowed to upgrade instantly.  They suspect all phones by December.

Update to Windows 10 Mobile

  • The free update to Windows 10 Mobile will be available for most Windows Phone 8.1 devices starting later this year. Certain new devices running Windows 10 Mobile are available now. For more info, see the Microsoft Mobile Devices website.
  • Note: The availability of Windows 10 Mobile for Windows Phone 8.1 devices will vary depending on manufacturer and mobile operator or service provider.

If you would have done a Bing search for "Windows 10 Mobile Upgrade" you would have found this answer.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

I don't follow your meaning? Is English your second language?

Contradict - verb

deny the truth of (a statement) by asserting the opposite.

- assert the opposite of a statement made by (someone).

- be in conflict with.

I.e. None of the links you posted disprove/are in opposition to anything I posted.

Yes, can you please explain your point because it isn't coming across clearly?

P.S In your sig: "Use proper English on all post" *"in all posts" due to 'all' making it plural ;)

I have been using (at least) 90% proper English, and certainly understandable with anyone that has a 8th grade reading level.

I have been using (at least) 90% proper English, and certainly understandable with anyone that has a 8th grade reading level.

So this is what I understand:

- I said W10M is coming on the new Lumias in November and as an upgrade to existing phones in December.

- You said no, they suspect all phones would be upgraded by December, with nothing to back it up.

- I refuted that restating my original assertion followed up with a link to MS Lumia Facebook with them saying the same thing as me.

- You posted 2 irrelevant links (presumably to show you disagree?).

- I replied saying your links didn't contradict me and copied a quote from MS Lumia from my previous link stating the rollout on existing devices would begin in December.

- You said you searched the page and found one hit for "contradict".

- I assumed by your apparent confusion of the word contradict and the use of English in your sig you weren't a native English speaker asking as much and further explaining what my last post meant (it wasn't meant to be an insult that's just how it appeared to me, sorry).

- You returned the question without further explaining what you were talking about previously.

- I asked you to explain what you were trying to say because I didn't understand it.

- You state you are using (mostly) proper English and someone with an 8th grade reading level should understand it (while still keeping the -quite amusing- typo in your sig ;))

Which still leaves me not understanding what the point you've been trying to make is, I have posted the expected release time frame of W10M with a link form MS to back it up and you have replied you disagree with irrelevant links to support your statement followed by seemingly nonsensical posts about "CTRL+F" searching "contradict" etc.

So with that explanation of what I understand of the chain of posts and what you have said, I ask again, can you please explain your point because it isn't coming across clearly? If there is something I'm missing what is it?

You're stating facts, and doing it incorrectly as well.  I supported each of my statements with links to direct sources, as well as you're saying I was trying to start a argument suggest you have a high level of testosterone.  Are you a high school student?

OK, so if there is supporting information in your links could you please quote it because I can't find it.

I never said you were trying to start an argument either, just that you weren't making sense however I do think each of your posts were written in a derogatory manor.

If you are going to have "Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it." in your sig you could at least spend the time trying to answer the question that I have clearly spent the time trying to clarify with more than just insults.

I'd like to know exactly what comments are insulting? And I took the time to scour the web and find the data. I read the pages and verified its contents. In my links you will find the requirements for Windows 10 Mobile, the launch products that will support it right off the back , as well as other vital information to the update process.

1) If you would have done a Bing search for "Windows 10 Mobile Upgrade" you would have found this answer. <- this comes across as demeaning, it's basically a LMGTFY link but I had come up with the relevant info already.

2) I just did a "CTRL+F" on "contradict" and it only shows 1 find. <- Honestly I still don't know what you were trying to say here, at first I thought it was a misunderstanding of the definition of contradict but when you said it wasn't I just assumed it was something meant to be demeaning again, if it wasn't sorry but, as I say, I still don't know what you meant here.

3) English is my first language, is it your first language? <- I understand me asking this first may have seemed insulting but I have explained my reasoning for asking and apologised if you took it as an insult however asking the same to me with, from what I can tell, no reason to believe its not my fist language can only be taken as an insult.

4) I have been using (at least) 90% proper English, and certainly understandable with anyone that has a 8th grade reading level. <- I hope you can see how this is clearly demeaning and doesn't aid in progressing the thread what-so-ever.

5) you're saying I was trying to start a argument suggest you have a high level of testosterone. Are you a high school student? <- Again, I never said you were trying to start an argument and this statement is clearly meant to be demeaning. And again, not helping progress the thread in any means.

Now at this point all you have to do is post a quote where it says existing Windows phones will be getting the upgrade to W10M in November with the suspected final rollout by December as you asserted and I will apologise and move on but for the time being nothing I have seen you post supports that claim while I have provided a link clearly stating that the upgrade to existing devices will begin rolling out in December, with the new Lumia phones shipping in November with W10M preinstalled (I haven't provided a link to back up the second part but I don't think there's any confusion about the new Lumias shipping next month especially with them unavailable now with only a few days remaining till next month).

Didn't Microsoft say something about "forcing" operators to push their updates faster and not locking clients into certain, somewhat outdated, versions?

I don't remember exactly what Microsoft wants to do. I think they wanted to push direct updates, but I also know they want to do away with carrier-branded devices so there is no "middle man" controlling updates. All I know is that updates on both my Lumia 521 and 925 have been delayed when compared to AT&T versions, and it seems T-Mobile is to blame.
