This will be better. What is your max budget?

What's your budget, and what country?

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

hard to say since i live in norway so prices are different.

but lets say about 800 dollars

oh and i already have the ssd and hdd, so you can subtract that from the equation

the Commandar MS-I Snow Edition is currently on sale here - any downides to using this one instead? (also i think it looks nicer)

wil i really need 750w?

how about overclocking. im a total newb when it comes to this. is this settup capable of it and to what degree

what about fans - any recomendations, how manny?

again , this is ment fore 1080p on one monitor and 60 fps is plenty

i mentioned above my budget is 800 (not including hdd + ssd). i could probably strech that to about 1000 if i would end upp with something vastly superior

Well, I'd suggest you get a locked i5 if it's signifigantly cheaper, and drop the SSD, and then used the saved money to get your GPU up to a 390, or a 970 if the 970 is much cheaper where you are.

You just need to step your PSU up to a 500W or preferably a bit higher

Ok then. Yeah, cases are personal preference, so if you like it then go for it. As for overclocking, if you don't need the extra performance, then you can save quite a bit of cash by going with an i5-4460 and a h97 motherboard. If you do, then maybe you could buy a more powerful CPU cooler, maybe even a water cooler.

Yeah, you don't need 750W, you could probably get away with 600W.

I would get one additional 120mm fan for the front.

An after market cpu cooler is required if one wishes to overclock the cpu. It is advisable, but not necessary for gaming systems.

  1. New system will have better gaming performance and faster storage. The cpu will do better with multi-threaded applications and high workloads.
  2. Yes.
  3. Not without an after market cpu cooler. But otherwise, yes.
  4. Don't know. Put it in pcpartpicker.com.
  5. Yes, the psu and ssd.
  6. Better psu. Better ssd, ideally 240GB+. Consider going with Skylake instead of Haswell. Eight GB of memory would be enough. A better gpu.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
