Sony Vegas Import Issue

I have some raw footage for a recording I did and when I play the video using Windows Media Player I can hear everything but when I import the same footage into Sony Vegas Pro 13 the audio vanishes and I can't even see the audio waves below the video layer..

 

 

Please help me and don't make me be a pathetic Windows Movie Maker user..... Ewwwwwww

It is downloaded already on my computer so it is still not working with this Codec Pack.

Fuck.

Do you have any way to check the audio codec, maybe through VLC?

I have this issue with 12, on occasion. 

Running it through handbrake fixes it for me.
