Hi, I have zero experience in building a PC and am looking for some advice.

I'm starting university next year and will be studying electrical engineering and computer science so would love for my computer to be able to handle next gen games, engineering programs as well as programming tasks.

I plan on using an ultrawide 21:9 1440p monitor, something like the dell ultrawide 34" U3415W, love the idea of a 3 monitor setup without having bezels or cables to deal with.

I'm willing to spend around $4000 - $5000 AUD on the PC but not sure if that's overkill.

This is what I've come up with so far:

Case: NZXT H440 black and blue

CPU: i7 5930k 6-core

Motherboard: Intel X99 usb 3.0

Power supply: Corsair 1000W

Hard drive: 3TB 7200RPM

SSD: 256gb Samsung pro edition

Graphics card: GTX 980 Ti 6gb

CPU cooler: Corsair Hydro H100i GTX Liquid Cooler

Thanks in advance!

Well, with an i7, GTX 1080, Full tower and flashy lights, it can obviously only be for one thing:

You seem to like the corsair 300R case, any reason in particular or would NZXT be fine? I'm looking for a good looking, quiet case

i picked that case because it fit the budget, any case you like the look of would do fine, is there a specific one you like?
