Opening the back panel of a Laptop

nukem

So i want to take out the mechanical 2.5" drive from my HP Sleekbook 15 to put an ssd into it.

ive removed all the screws on the back, and now im trying to pry the plastic to take the cover off. ive read up that a guitar pick is good for this but unfortunately i dont have one.. ive tried a tiny flat head precision screwdriver.. and an old plastic card from my wallet, the screwdriver was too thick and the card just bends too much to be able to work.

any ideas?

The precision screwdriver is too thick? That's what I use to get it off. Try leveraging around usb or ethernet ports if it even has them

How about using it in one of the screw holes, to get underneath the plastic. Be careful of the motherboard though

actually 2x of the screws that were on the back had little pictures next to them which look like a keyboard.

Then if that's the case the keyboard should be loose and easy to take off. Also, on my phone so can't see pictures, laptop manufacturers like to hide screws under the rubber feet... Make sure you get those too

before i do that, im thinking i should unplug the keyboard from the chasis, am i right in saying it detaches from the chasis and not the keyboard itself? it looks very frail and i dont want to break it lol!

when you have the connector its sand collour like and a brown clip you lift the brown clip up just the brown one not the rest and then you can pull the thing out
