HELP!!!!

So today I bought a OCZ Vector 256gb and an enclosure, and my idea was that i would use the ssd just as a portable hard drive until i upgraded my computer and then i would make it my boot drive, the only problem is that nothing comes up when i put it into the enclosure and plug it into my case. Could it be that i need to format it or something like that? Please any help would be appreciated.

You definitely need to format the drive. Other than that, make sure that you have the USB 3 driver installed for your computer (or update it if you do have it installed). If that doesn't work, try using a different usb 3 port and then try a few usb 2 ports. If none of that works then you may have a dead unit or just a bad product.

Also, especially since it isn't formatted and depending on the product (I'm not familiar with that product specifically), you may need to find the disk in the disk manager that's in administrative tools and format it from there.

Also, you haven't given much info, so I don't know what os you're using, what motherboard you have, etc.
