Windows 10 Breaks GPU Drivers

Go to solution Solved by Tsuki,

Hmm, I did uninstall nvidia everything several tiumes, but didnt run update after that. Will try now, thanks!

yea dont actually download it from the nvidia website.  just let windows do it.

Hello! I recently installed Windows 10 Pro on my new PC, and it is giving me a headache since then.

It installs some Microsoft Visual updates, even though I disabled it from automatic updating (per that tip, that is widely spread). Next time I restart PC, my display driver is switched to Microsoft Basic Display Driver, with my GPU (GB Gtx 960 ITX) disabled and running my display at 64Hz (Dell P2415Q which natively has 60Hz@3840x2160). Uninstalling those updates and reinstalling Nvidia drivers may just temporally fix this issue, until next restart that is.

Additional info: I cant open Nvidia control panel, and GeForce experience downloads the driver each time i restart my PC, even though that same version was just installed.

Does anyone here have some opinion on this situation? Any help is appreciated.

Have you tried disabling integrated graphics in the BIOS? Have you checked to be sure your monitor is plugged into the graphics card?

I know it seems basic but i have to ask

Did you happen to upgrade to windows 10 or clean install?

i had a similar issue when i upgraded.

uninstall nvidia everything, then run windows update.   windows should download it by itself, and it SHOULD fix itself

How do Reavers clean their spears?
