Headset recommendation weee

Go to solution Solved by KickinGravy,

I own the Cloud II's and I can say from using them extensively they are a great pair of headphones for the price

So here I am asking you guys the same that people ask everyday. So I have this old rusty GameCom 780, I still love it but I want to replace for new stuff ofc. So I've been researching a bit and found (for a $100 budget) this Hyperx Cloud 2 and a few others. What I am looking for is a gaming headset, of course, with mic and easy mute button, 7.1 (I don't care if virtual or not), and comfy, yeah comfy cause I don't find the GC780 that comfy, and too squared for me despite being awesome. I always wanted the DT770 but it has no 7.1 surround nor a mic (and I don't really want a mod mic, cause of buying lazyness). So I'm stuck with the Cloud 2. My question is, are there any real $100 alternatives or is the Cloud 2 the best I can get for my preferences? Sorry for the long text with old questions. I also forgot to say I'm looking for a closed one cause of noisy family and computer is in living room + mechanical keyboard makes too much noise while playing osu!mania. Oh, also, with that said, playing osu!mania requires that the headset has decent music reproduction.

I've heard the HyperX Cloud II's are quite decent for <$100 including a mic, but I haven't used them.

I'm not an audiophile by any means, but I think 7.1 in gaming headsets is kind of a gimmick and you shouldn't look specifically for it. I thought I had to get a pair of 7.1 headphones when my G930's started to break, but I got Sennheiser HD 558's instead. The audio is so much more dynamic; you can hear drums in just your left ear and a guitar in your right ear perfectly clear for example. (I know HD 558's are open and are not perfect for you, I'm just explaining my dislike for 7.1.)

RIP in pepperonis m8s

Yeah, I don't know how far the 7.1 in the GC780 goes but I like it, I mean, I can hear the difference while playing Battlefield for example, and voices in a Skype conversation are great. I know open would be best for having a sense of location and stuff but unfortunately I can't have one :(. Any closed suggestions? The friends up here seem to like HC2 quite much, maybe I should buy it already and be done with it haha.
