Pro Apps Workstation Re-Build

Hey everyone:

 

I currently have an I5 2500k and a GTX 970, and I get terrible FPS in 3DS Max and Photoshop.  I do a lot of heavy Normal Mapping with Quixel Suite in photoshop, and it really chugs.  When using Max and doing UV Unwrapping I get 2-3 FPS with only 50k  poly models.  I don't think my 970 is hurting, I assume it's my CPU.  Also, when just using Max the 3D viewer gets between 3 - 20 FPS, which is usable but quite nasty to look at.   I also shoot video and edit and my render times are terrible.  

 

Can anyone recommend new parts for 3DS Max, Photoshop, and Vegas/Premier?   I game a bit as well, but I know I won't get any more FPS, I'm not too concerned about that.

Here's the PC stuff I already have:

 

3 massive HDDs

512gb ssd

12gb of DDR3

sweet ass HX 650 PSU

Big case for all the things

If u could get your hands on an used i7 2600k/2700k it would improve the performance, maybe add a second 970 too

You could get a Quadro, those being good at content creation programs and etc. You should be able to have a quadro and the 970 running in the same rig

Would a quadro get much significantly much better FPS than a brand new 6700K?  Also, I know nothing about Quadros.  How much should I pay, and which one should I buy?

3d related shit and photoshop would work better with graphics processing units than with cpus.

 

As for which ones you should get it really depends on demanding your work is. I don't know a whole lot about Quadros, but if I had to recommend one then probably a Quadro K2200 http://www.nvidia.com/object/quadro-desktop-gpus.html# If you're work is really demanding and you need something beefier and willing to pay for it then perhaps a Quadro M4000

The Quadro K2200 is about the price of many modern day graphics cards, at $430ish.

 

I'm not an expert on that stuff though. My advice is look up review videos on youtube about quadros and seeing if any of them are to your liking
