Need computer speaker reccomendations

Kinda sorta girlfriend had a pair of Logitech Z623s and she had them for...less then half a week before they broke on her, she returned them and is looking for other ideas on what to get.

Shes looking for about $170 Canadian dollars.

 

I'd happily help her out but I  frankly dunno much about sound setups, so figured id ask here, maybe give her some ideas.

I have the Z623's and love them but I may try the $130 choice below. The Z623's are pretty good - i think she just got unlucky.

The sub on hers went and it seems to be a common fault according to her research, and shes not interested in rolling the dice again.

I have been using Logitech all my life, never had any problem. they rock!

And nearly everything ive bought logitech has had to be RMAed, not helpful.

The sub in this setup is absolutely fantastic, I don't have the speakers themselves but I do use Klipsh speakers and their speakers are great.

I was going to suggest some Miccas, but looking on Canadian Amazon prices are crazy high. Possibly the Dayton Airs and a cheap amp?

Way to much in canada.

Well I would suggest looking into Klipsh, their speakers are some of the best I have seen, beats JBL... My rear speakers are JBL, they might be worth looking into as well.

Edit: NVM on JBL, most of their stuff is way to expensive.

Well what does she like exactly? 2.1, 5.1 etc.

I think 2.1 is fine, her only complaint with the logitechs were they broke.

 what about these badboys ? Mackie CR Series CR3? My friend had them and they were very loud and clear.

Mackie CR Series CR3. Lots of good reviews on Amazon as well.
