Grab a Xeon E3-1231v3, it's more powerful than the 4690k and you don't overclock it so the heat should not be an issue with it, in a build that small.

Overall it's probably the best you could've chosen, however it's a waste of money imo, you could've made a build that would destroy it performance per dollar-wise for the same amount of money.

I wanted to build as small as I can and I really want to use this case, what do you have in mind?

What I mean is that for the same amount of money, you can get a build much better, but in a mid-tower case. The NZXT S340 is a small mid-tower, would be the way to go imo. I can put something together if you want for a comparison.

No that's okay. I'm constricted with the size for now. My main concern was the compatibility with the PSU and motherboard. So I'm not going to be overclocking this, would a i5-4460 be a good choice still?

The Xeon E3-1231v3 doesn't need an aftermarket cooler and doesn't need an expensive motherboard like the K-series do. It's also as powerful as an i7-4770. It's your best bet, however if it's over your budget, the locked i5 is an option, anything from 4460 to 4690 should be fine. Maybe you can find some good deals on 4570/90 or 4670/90 non-k versions.

I might actually go with the Xeon E3-1231v3. This will work with all the components just the same, right?
