Low budget pc

Go to solution Solved by Morgan MLGman,

I would only recommend getting a better motherboard for OC (A88X chipset) since you need to OC that little APU, both the iGPU and the CPU parts and an SSD from a reliable brand (don't entirely trust Patriot).

I also highly recommend you get an aftermarket cooler cause that APU just asks you to OC the hell out of it.

It is just meant to replace the dying pc we have in our family office now. I will be reusing the psu from the old pc and the 250gb hard drive. It doesnt need to run the latest AAA games, just basic stuff like roller coaster tycoon, web browsing, email etc.

If you are referring to RCT 1 or 2, I believe you are fine

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

RCT 3. We already run it at like 10 fps so anything will be an improvement over that.

oh god... I play that now on a 4770k and a GTX 660, and it works great, but I have to say it's not like it's by a huge margin or anything.  Build a big park and it still bogs down.  On your specs... I'm not sure what to expect.

RCT 3 will run fine on that system, i've gotten 50+ fps on lower end systems then that so you should be fine.

Hopefully its just as good or better than the other RCT games and not like the microtransaction filled RCT4 on mobile.

I would get the 7870k simply cause the cpu cooler is sooo much better and quiet. For my 7850 I got a cheap 15 buck t2 cooler from coolermaster and it works great. Dau's 7870 has the stock cooler. I use the old psu on mine and its fine. Plays BF4 on medium at 1080 26 to 30 fps and a solid 60 fps at 720 so they do pack a punch.
