Will not load bios or display

I have an asus maximus vii formula mb and a 4790k I7 cpu and am using a single stick of 8 Gb ddr3 ram.

 

The error code is showing a 00 when started, but will sometimes "shut down" a few moments later (the led / start/reset button still lit).

I have tired the ram in all 4 slots and the PSU to the best of my knowledge is working fine.

When I attempt to have it display using on board graphics it will not output.

 

and yes..... This is my first pc build.... i am a noob, I accept that...

Any advice is much appreciated!
