Hello everyone ! Who watched the HTC One A9 launch yesterday?

It's a pretty amazing phone launched by HTC. HTC has been in a lot of financial problems lately, mostly due to the problems with the M9 underperforming in the camera department and being very similar to M8 and not being worth the upgrade. Where Apple copied the design of the M7 using the plastic antenna bands on the back and making sh*t-load of money from it.

HTC is firing back to remind everyone who's design it actually is with the A9. Lots of people were wanting HTC to make a full front glass and they did just that with the A9, dropping the boomsound front speakers unfortunately for iphone-like bottom speakers. (But way better, supporting Dolby and Dolby surrond system and Boomsound enhancement on headphones). The phone is absolutely gorgeous.

It's powered by a Snapdragon 617 (Which supports quick charging 3.0). 2150 mhA battery, 32GB of Storage and 3GB of RAM with SD Card Slot. And a fingerprint reader.

HTC finally up-ed their game in the camera department where they're giving a 13MP shooter with OIS. The camera can capture RAW images and has it's built-in hyperlapse mode.

But the best part? It's for only 400$.

It's flashigship design phone, in a mid-range price.

What do you think? An Apple rip-off or an incredible new phone by HTC?

@Sousuke , it's fine you can poke as much as you want. But the truth will remain the same. Everyone is copying from everyone. Why didn't everyone lose their mind as well when Iphone 6 copied M8 and M7? Just because Apple did it, it's okay? But that's how the world goes. This little fiasco will be gone in a few weeks and people will start to appreciate how a 400$ phone can beat a flagship phone from Apple.

I find that taking all this "Copying" Stuff seriously isn't the way to appreciate tech, I'd rather use a phone with a well proven design that works rather than an experimental design. Infact in that photo i've actually poked fun at both HTC and Apple.

I find that Apple copies as much if not more than any Android handset however I don't really care about it as it's the phone itself that matters not where the bits have come from.

True and to be honest. The A9 surprised me on how well it is built, how cheaper it is than other flagships and the features it gives for a good price. It's a really high-end design, we can all agree to that, and the color choices is amazing. (Deep garnet is the one i prefer)

Honestly? I prefer a phone with a none 800+ CPU. They say that are power efficient but they do consume more power than other phones. I think since the 600, the performance has all been the same.. you never hear a new phone releasing which is not "smooth and fast"... Why even go higher? I don't game much on my phone.. a 617 that uses less power than a 800+ CPU and that supports quick charging 2.0 (and 3.0 when available) is overkill.

The phone is slim, looks absolutely gorgeous and HTC has finally went AMOLED, which looks vibrant and stunning. I like the fingerprint sensor on the front. I watched many videos and it's SO quick. (Like others).

It's a good smartphone. Worth the buy if you're lookin for a 400~ish device.

Now you'd say: But the MotoX Pure or OnePlus Two have better specs and stuff.. But they def don't look high-end like the A9 does..

Plus, if you live in the USA it's a no brainer. You get HTC Uh-Oh, which means you get free replacement if you destroy your A9 for a year, and if you didn't you get a discount on your next htc purchase!

And HTC has promised a 15 day update period everytime google launches a new androd version on it's nexus line up.

(Yeah the A9 runs on Marshmellow)

I think that the updates they've promised is something I'm going to keep an eye on as if I am honest I was majorly disappointed with my OnePlus One with regards to updates, even though it was running CyanogenMod the updates took an age to come though and that was from a company promising a quick turnaround on updates.

Updates is 100% my main gripe with Android and it will be refreshing to see a non Nexus device that gets updates quickly.

In the US the price is very competitive but here in the UK they've lost the plot with regards to the price (USA = $399.99, UK its £449.99 which is $693.80) so we won't be very interested in this device.

I think this is a midrange phone at best. The iPhone 6s proved that there's no such thing as fast enough. In order to even be considered a flagship phone, you need to have a ultra fast cpu, gpu, and storage as well as the usual good camera under and situation, good display, all day battery life, etc. Thus, this is just a phone with the specs of yesteryear.
