VM but for servers?

Go to solution Solved by Speedbird,

GMOD running clockwork.

I'm not really familiar with clockwork, but I have hosted a source dedicated server.

You just install the GMOD dedicated server software on your computer, like you would on an actual server.

Hey,

I'm trying to test some of my plugins for a game server, but I'm a cheapo so I don't actually have my own dev server. It is possible to do something like Virtual Machine but run a server on it?

- CPU: Intel i7 3770 - GPU: MSI R9 390 - RAM: 16GB of DDR3 - SSD: Crucial BX100 - HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB -

Yes. Or, why not just run the server locally? On your computer.

Yeah, facepalming hard right now because I'd forgotten about just hosting it with SteamCMD etc. Thanks so much :-)

Just a question, can I copy gmod and CSS, etc from my steamapps instead of downloading them though SteamCMD?
