Windows not seeing OS disk

Go to solution Solved by Matsy,

Have you tried formatting it from the disk management screen instead of my computer?

Or the old fashioned way to do both at the same time ^^

1.  Open command prompt (run as admin)

2.  type "diskpart" and hit enter

3.  type "list disk" and hit enter, you will be able to see by the size column which one is your usb stick

4.  Say its disk 2, type "select disk 2" and hit enter

5.  Wipe it by typing "clean" and hit enter

6.  When thats done type "create partition primary" hit enter

7.  type "select partition 1" and hit enter

8.  type "active" and hit enter

9.  type "format fs=fat32" and hit enter and let it run.

10.  type "assign" and hit enter

11.  Use daemon tools to open the ISO, go into the folder and copy all the files onto the usb drive.

Its now a windows 7 boot drive!

OR here is a fix for your ISO problem with the windows 7 USB thing....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1nBon3lXJpg

MAke sure you back-up your original ISO first though.

So I bought a new Samsung 840 EVO SSD and wanted to reinstall windows 7 on it to get away from the 8.1 problems I am having, but I ran into a problem it appears that windows is not seeing either my DVD or something else, I use a single SSD in my system so I just unpluged my old 840 pro and went to install win7 on the evo. I was greeted with...

Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix problem:

1. Insert your windows installation disk and restart computer.

2. Choose your language settings. and then click next.

3. Click "Repair your computer"

File: \$WINDOWS.~BT\Windows\System32\winload.exe

Status: 0xc000000f

I know the problem is that it's not seeing that I have windows on a drive, yet I no longer have windows on my 840 pro, either.

I follow all steps and it brings me back to the same thing as listed above regardless, I can't use a USB stick and try since my USB stick is no longer formatting in windows for what ever reason, I have tried this with my Win7 ultimate disk and my win8 pro disk, neither are working it always comes back to this same problem.

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

Use that instead to make a new windows 7 boot drive on your USB pen, it will do everything for you.

Get the ISO from http://www.w7forums.com/official-windows-7-sp1-iso-image-downloads-t12325.html

If you don't already have one.

This will bypass the CD drive if the CD drive is causing the issue.

Could also just try daemon tools lite and run the ISO directly from your desktop bypassing the CD drive all together if that is the issue.

I can't get to a desktop, tho. My only USB stick large enough to hold a ISO image is not being formated in windows for what ever reason, and also when i tryed last it wasn't allowing meto make a bootable USB in win7-USB, it said it's a :""unsupported ISO"

I can't get to a desktop on my PC since I don't have any form of OS on my PC, nothing is allowing me to boot.
