The cheapest phone I can think of with good battery life is the BLU Energy 2/X for $100-$200.

But I'd be more comftorable with the Moto G for $200

There are also the One Plus One or the Asus Zenfone 2 for $300.

There are plently of options for $400. There's the Nexus 5P, One Plus Two, & Moto X Pure.

There's the LG G4 which came down in price from around $600 to $430. (That's the one I'm getting.)

There's the Nexus 6P for around $500. I don't know a lot about this price point yet though.

There's a bunch more that are more expensive than that. Like Sony's Xperia Z5 phones and Samsung's Galaxy phones.

Be sure to look up reviews of these phones on YouTube to see if you like them. Marques Brownlee is popular.

I'm also in the market for a new phone. I've ordered a Wileyfox Storm (released Oct 28 '15) which is essentially the UK version of OnePlus. Speaking of OnePlus, the OP X  is going to be announced in the next few weeks - it is said to be a smaller and cheaper version of the OP 2. Xiaomi also make some really powerful handsets for the price and might be worth checking out - the mi4c in particular looks good.

LG G4 FTW.

I had it for around $400 dollar at T-Mobile, and it is the best for that price except ... the Software UI for LG G4.

You can't even access notification or quick settings when you are on a LOCKSCREEN. I bet all other smartphones can do it. :S

Well, other than that, it is the best. :P

I've heard that the software is a problem. I'm wondering if it's enough of a problem to not buy it.

I see it for $430 on Amazon and $480 on T-Mobile.

Well, can't access the settings or notification on lock screen for LG G4 isn't a big deal.

+ Beastly Camera

+ Amazing standby battery life like iPhone and iPad (full charge, leave it asleep and doesn't lose any percent or maybe one)

+ Removable battery (ZeroLemon 8,500 mAh battery case FTW)

+ Expandable Storage

+ Beastly Snapdragon 808

+ 3GB RAM

+ 1440p screen

and so on.

Forgot to mention, the speaker is at the back. QQ.

Only the Software UI and back speaker is the only issue.
