i will be using this computer for everyday things like Microsoft office, power point (school homework), gaming, Photoshop and illustrator, as well as some 3D rendering.

My budget is around $1500 US (with peripherals).

I don't have the budget to get two of the same monitors but i will end up with two monitors, the one from the build and an older monitor from a hp computer- this is the one i currently have HP w1907. The reason i want an extra monitor is for multi tasking and stuff like that (maybe not so much for gaming).

The keyboard in the build is not the one i will be getting, its just their because its the same price as the Redragon Karura (which is the one i will be getting i just couldn't find it on pcpartpicker). i also already have a wireless mouse and will probably just be using earphones to save some money and buy a pair of headphone down the road. Also have some cheap speakers which can also be used but i doubt it.

This will be the first gaming/modern desktop i will have, my older computer that came with the monitor only has a GB of memory and was practically useless so i need a new one.

This is my build i will be buying this holiday season.

I want to keep this build a black and red theme mainly to show off to friends and family but i also want it to last a while because ill probably be heading to college in the next 3 years and ill probably wont have the money to upgrade  :P

I want to get win 7 because i have an extra key for Microsoft Office home and student (unless theirs a free way to make documents and presentations in any other newer windows i wont change that) I also know that win 7 doesn't support more than 16 GB of RAM- that's a draw back im willing to take.

Thanks for the advice in advance i really need help.

EDIT: If you tell me that i should go with skylake could you help me because i dont really know much about skylake hardware. A skylake build in pcpartpicker would be helpfull ;) thanks

If u want "Future compatible" i say go with skylake because most CPUs coming up will prob be supporting the socket type skylake uses.

Your graphics card will last about 3 years maybe( Playing most games on ultra-high setting).

You can add another graphics card for 90% more power and that will make it last for a couple more years.

To crossfire in the future you will need to get a more powerful power supply. Maybe 850w.

You know how Z97 was sold on supporting broadwell? You know how there were largely no broadwell CPUs released for desktops? I am sure you do. What I am saying is that I wouldn't count on Z170 supporting the next gen. I also wouldn't count on the next gen making any significant increases to performance on the enthusiast desktop level.

Case: That's fine you can keep it (:

Fully and semi mod: Fully means you can pick what cords you need. You wont need like every cable plugged in.

GPU Compatability: Not sure....

yea my question was if its really necessary to have a full over a semi.

By gpu future compatibility i mean, will a 970 have any decreased performance from a 390 over a year or two with newer games using more than 3gb of vram?

BUT thanks anyways on the advice
