An interesting issue....

Wasn't quite sure where to post this so apologies if this is like, completely the wrong area of the forums as the problem is quite vague....

Finally got my new system up and running Hurray! But, and here's the problem.... it works, posts, boots into windows and everything but after around 2-3 minutes it will procede to automatically

turn itself off and on, is this a simple fix? have i perhaps been stupid and wired something up wrong? thanks

Could be something tripping your power button leads which would cause it to shutdown, a software issue, or a power failure caused by a short or faulty psu, in what way does it shutdown, is it as if the power went off or as if you pressed the power button.

It just turns off normally, the PSU is a corsair RM 850 series and it'll just restart itself, i'll also hear it make a distinctive ticking noise when it turns off.

In fact the psu does have some issues i found the atx main connector has a bad connection at best, if the wire is not positioned properly, a refund may be a good idea i think..... Any suggestions on perhaps another brand of PSU?

Heard XFX has some good ones,maybe try seasonic too
