It's good enough..

Not gunna be getting the highest FPS like the 4.6Ghz CPU's the reviewers use with similar GPU's... a little less, not by much in games that are more GPU intensive.

Should last long enough, that you can save for the new platform before your hating the performance of your rig.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

I had that exact CPU. It's actually very good for what it is. I notice very little improvement in most games when I upgraded to my 4690k. However, there are some CPU intensive games that spike the 4690k to 70-80% on all cores, so in those cases you might see it's upper limits. Regardless, you're still better off putting your money into GPU if you haven't already.

The cpu is great, you can get it up to 3,8GHz because, it is partially unlocked, I don´t really know, if your MB supports turbo-boost overclocking, but I would still give it a try.

A video that illustrates the process:

Concentrate on your visual / audio experience to get the most out of your very decent build. So a nice monitor and nice headphones / speakers. Your mobo is getting oldish so maybe upgrade that on the next generation after Skylake.

the RL2455HM good enough? the reason i am getting this is because i play my games mostly on ultra and i am used to the TN panel.

i will upgrade my mobo and cpu in the future. just finished college :D

The response time is good so if competitive game is important to you that's definitely an advantage. Although for that price you can get a nice IPS panel with a slower response rate which is my preference. Just comes down to what is most visually appealing to you
