Does anyone know ( can confirm ) or hear anything about a socket 2011 motherboard refresh for the new upcoming IvyBridge-E CPU's? If not any rumors or ideas? Current boards appear to be lacking a lot of what Haswell boards have.

Thanks!

The socket will apparently be socket 2011-3.

Oh right. If Intel keeps what they did with the consumer platform, the socket will be 2011 still.

I'm excited for ivy-e simply to see all the shiny new motherboards lol don't really care too much about the CPU's since i was expecting more than what it's apparently going to be.

Why would you expect more? It'd be the same thing basically going from Sandy to Ivy on the desktop.

I just thought there would be more benefit other than just the speed increase from a die shrink
