So if I use a bios file from my flash drive to flash the main one and both versions are the same. It's all good? Also, how/when will the backup bios kick in to restore the main?

Yes you are fine, I would be shocked if it ddnt ship with the same bios on each one, I think you have to manually switch it, I dont think its an automatic process. look at your motherboard manual, its been a while since I had to do mine but I THINK there is a physical switch on my motherboard by the pins for the power button/reset button hdd light ect.

I ask because I don't know if the bios version file on their site is the same in every way to the bios version file in my bios rom.

Well that I dont know, you would need to get into the bios to check what version its currently running, its likely an outdated one though.

'

cause what you download is likely going to be the newest version and its entirely likely the bios on the mobo is a few revisions old now

Also wanna put out a disclaimer I do in any Bios thread, if you dont know what you are doing I recommend not fucking around with your bios, especially if you don't absolutely need to update it.

I appreciate the disclaimer but I found that my current bios is the newest/current stable one. All other bios versions that are newer are currently in BETA. So would my F14 bios on my board be the same bios to the F14 bios file on gigabytes site?

PS: I actually go into the settings of my bios frequently. It's the flashing that scares me (even though my board is a DUAL-BIOS board).

yes the F14 should be the exact same F14 that is on the gigabytes site.
