So i want to get the 5x, but only comes with usb c to c cable

and i would have to be another cable, only 15$ but still.

anyway to turn it off via software?

I assume that there should be because on TouchWiz phones that support quick charging there's just an option for it. However searching online about disabling this on Nexus phones doesn't seem to come up with much. Use an adapter that isn't one that comes with the device, so it won't use quick charge?

Sig under construction.

Means i would need to be another cable, as the nexus 5x doesn't come with a usb c to a cable only c to c.

dam, really should be software option.

I think quickcharge is more controlled by hardware rather than software (the technology is made by Qualcomm so I assume it's integrated/linked somehow to their SoCs), but I agree that it would be nice to have a software option to control that.

I think in order to have slower charging you'd have to get the other cable and plug it into a lower power USB port. Other than that I can't really think of any other reasonable ways to disable the technology.

I actually couldn't underclock my 5 year old GPU to make it as slow as a next-gen console.
