I assume you mean the 4790K? Also the motherboard won't work So you'll need a Z97 Motherboard. Other than that, It's good to go!

Don't need to spend $120 on a cooler

Motherboard will get the job done but you can get a better one if you choose

same memory kits

significantly better GPU

MUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCH better SSD and swapped the HDD out for shits and giggles

XFX power supply, OEM'd by Seasonic

Looks great!
You might try to get your hands on one of the 'Sabranco' Sabertooth motherboards by ASUS as seen in the sub-zero build log.
Titanium might also be a cool effect (check out the MSI motherboards)

Do you have a program chosen for editing?

Yes!

Alternatively, you could choose the newest i7, 6700k and go with the z170 board/

SO:

4960/4970 processors = z97

6600/6700 processors = z170

What do you suggest i get for an editing rig? The 4970 and z97 or 6700 and z170?

I mean either will work but more powerful is better, yeah? Just depends on your budget.

I just checked Newegg:

4790 = $309

6700k - $370...

Newer chip will also require newer board so... it could easily be $100 more to get on the newest platform.

The EVGA GS 650W is a better power supply.
